Acclaim Media founder Matt Payne with Mika Hakkinen

Acclaim Media is an experienced public relations and media company with experience in the automotive and motorsport sectors.

Established in 2017, Acclaim Media was founded by public relations and media professional Matt Payne.

Specialising in brand, content and profile management, Acclaim Media offers services including generating high-level copy, effective media/profile campaigns, media training, event management, video and digital asset development.

Through its network, Acclaim Media has the availability to provide full service across the media and digital spectrums, along with strategy advice and development, while the organisation has a team of experts that can provide a variety of services across all digital and creative assets.

The Gold Coast-based organisation has worked with many internationally recognised brands including BMW, AMG, Supercars, Pirtek and Castrol in the sports and entertainment industries.

Prior to forming Acclaim Media, Payne worked as an account manager at the highly-respected media, marketing, public relations and events consultancy firm BAM Media, where he worked on the Pirtek Team Murray IndyCar programme for the 100th Indianapolis 500, as well as with Erebus Motorsport in the lead up to their Supercars Championship programme.

A lifelong motorsport fanatic, Payne is grateful for the opportunity to turn his passion for the sport into a career in the industry, which has included working at major motorsport events.

His clients in the space, whether at Acclaim or in agency land, have included the likes of Mercedes-AMG, World Supercross Championship, as well as the A1 Grand Prix.

He is also the lead commentator for the SP Tools Australian Kart Championship and worked with Broc Feeney on his profile when he moved his career from karts through to the Dunlop Super2 Series.

“I’ve loved motorsport my whole life – had no choice from birth,” Payne said.

“I used to always watch the Indy 500 race on VHS tape, coming home, sick from school, even if I wasn’t sick just to watch it.

“To go and have the opportunity to be involved in the 100th Indy 500 with Pirtek Team Murray and Matthew Brabham, it was really exciting and forever grateful for that opportunity.

“What continues to excite me about the sport from a professional perspective is having to meet and spend time socially with people.

“Spending time with Mika Hakkinen, who I watched in Formula One year after year after year was quite incredible and to work briefly with someone like Abbie Eaton when she came to Australia at the height of her The Grand Tour run was a cool moment.

“It’s sort of those pinch-yourself moments that you’ve just got to stop and stop, take a step back and enjoy.”

While Acclaim Media has diversified its portfolio of clients in recent years, it still has involvement in motorsport, with the organisation to take on clients in the Dunlop Super2 Series and Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia Powered by AWS in 2023.
