NETWORK: DJM Race Engineering

DJM Race Engineering specialises in preparation and running of vehicles for motorsport competition.

The East Melbourne-based kart dealership was founded by Dylan McLellan who has raced go-karts at levels including Junior National Heavy, Clubman Heavy and Clubman Super Heavy.

He went onto become involved with a Victorian-based Formula Ford team, working as a race mechanic and training data engineer for the Evans Motorsport Group, all while still in high school.

Following high school, he attended Motorsport Training Australia at Wodonga TAFE, where he studied all facets of motorsport including automotive, engineering, data acquisition, fabrication, welding, suspension systems, vehicle dynamics, auto electrics and engine building.

During this time, he continued to build his experience by working on Formula Fords, Aussie Racing Cars, Go Karts, Utes, Sports Sedans and Improved Production Cars.

Upon graduation from TAFE, he secured a role with Pedders Suspension.

Following his time at Pedders, he went onto form DJM Race Engineering.

His organisation has gone on to become a retailer for the highly successful Australian-designed and manufactured Arrow and the Italian-made Energy Corse Kart, Haase Kart, Tony Kart, Kosmic Kart, as well as offer karting’s biggest brands.

The motorsport store has had been involved in the karting industry for 15 years and travels to all major kart meetings in Victoria and elsewhere around the nation.

The squad has enjoyed success in the Australian Kart Championships, state titles around the country, Golden Power Series as well as other one-off events.

In addition to karting, the store has also been involved with other motorsport categories including Aussie Racing Cars, Australian Productions Cars, Formula Ford and V8 utes.

In addition to supplying karts, the organisation offers services including spare part sales, kart preparation, technical support, race mechanic, data analysis, kart transport, kart storage, chassis straightening and race meeting packages.
