NETWORK: UBUTEY ‘The Aussie Ute Experience’

The UBUTEY ‘The Aussie Ute Experience’ is an Australian-themed driver training and corporate events business specialising in V8 Utes.

Established by experienced driver trainer and motorsport driver Shane Tanner, the organisation strives to offer customers the quintessential Australian experience of driving a V8-powered ute.

Currently, the organisation has access to a V8 Holden Commodore SSV ute and is in the process of adding a Holden Commodore SV6 Ute and Ford Falcon XR8 ute to its fleet.

Its service offering includes a range of activities for all types of events, from skid pan and track days for birthdays and bachelor parties to corporate lunch and dinner events with well-known Australian motorsport identities.

The New South Wales-based organisation currently focuses its activities at the Sutton Road Driver Training Centre, with plans to expand operations to Pheasant Wood Circuit, Sydney Motorsport Park and Luddenham Raceway.

In commencing the business, Tanner wanted to use his skillset, while offering a unique product for the market.

“I have a background in driver training, I’ve trained L platers, up-and-coming police recruits in anti-terrorist driving and have also worked for the V8 race experience,” Tanner said.

“In starting the business I wanted to get, get sort of get back into that field, but I also wanted to offer customers a unique form of driver training in a very fun environment.

“Our brand is very Australian-themed, I’m trying to keep everything that we’re doing based around Australian culture, the utes, the livery, the lingo and the experience we provide.

“People are absolutely loving the theme, they’re loving the design that I’ve put on our ute and the road I’m going down to make it very Aussie, so I stand out from the crowd and other driver training companies.

“I try to have a very laid back relaxed and fun environment when people come to participate in the events.

“We can cater for one person up to say 100 people, with some of the events that we’re going to be doing down the track and the fact that we do things a little bit differently, we offer clients a really good, fun experience.”
