Automotive Event Images founder Brett Keating

Automotive Event Images founder Brett Keating is experienced in all areas of motorsport and automotive photography.

Established by Keating in 2018, Automotive Event Images specialises in national motorsport event coverage.

An accredited photographer, Keating is licensed through FIA, Motorsport Australia (Silver level), Australian National Drag Racing Association, Australian Auto Sport Alliance, the Australian Superbike Championship, and World Superbike Championship.

In addition to his accreditation, he is a member of the Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance, Benalla Auto Club, and South Coast Raceway.

He honed his craft covering local motorsport events in Victoria.

“I started with learning the basics of photography and then started doing a few events at Winton,” Keating said.

“I became a member there a few years ago, so I have done a lot of their events, including AMRS [Australian Motor Racing Series] and historics.

“It kept progressing along from there.”

He started his business, with a view to photograph Supercars.

“I really wanted to get into Supercars,” Keating added.

“I ended up doing a few events and it sort of went from there.

“Living the dream, I just love doing it, so I get out there and cover what I can.”

Keating has since gone onto to cover categories including Formula 1, FIM Superbike World Championship, Supercars Championship, the Australian Superbike Championship, the Australian Top Fuel Championship, as well as drag racing, motocross, and rallying.

While he has diversified his business by covering other sports such as cricket, he is still interested in covering motorsport.

“If the situation arose, I would definitely do it,” Keating declared.

“A lot of events after COVID, haven’t really come back to Victoria, we’ve been very limited in terms of motorsport events.

“I’ve shot other sports like cricket, I’ve covered the Boxing Day Test match and all the BBL games.

“I would definitely be interested in covering motorsport like drag racing.”
