Racetech Seats Australia supplies the entire Repco Supercars Championship field with driving seats, but is also keenly focused on growing its presence in the driver safety market.

Established in New Zealand 30 years ago, Racetech is a manufacturer of advanced motorsport seats and supplier of a range of safety-focused race parts for teams and competitors.

The company specialises in creating composite and carbonfibre race seats that can be fitted in touring cars, off-road cars, rally cars, as well as drift, drag, and speedway cars.

In an effort to grow its presence in the Australian market, it has established satellite company Racetech Seats Australia.

Racetech Seats Australia is based in Sydney and has a website that caters exclusively for an Australian audience.

In addition to supplying seats for the entire Supercars grid, Racetech also manufactures seats for the burgeoning TA2 Muscle Car Series.

Marketing Manager of Racetech Seats, Anthony Coomer, says Australia is a key market for the business.

“We’ve just never had a base there because we’re so close, but in order for us to move in the direction our business needs to go, we needed to have a base in Australia,” Coomer said.

“We want to have a larger foothold in the market … We are looking to succeed in the drag racing and circuit racing markets in Australia.”

Coomer says that while Racetech provides high-performance racing equipment, that also means that safety is a priority.

“Our philosophy is that we want to get drivers home safely after race day,” he said.

“We keep people racing fast, safely, and we do it in ways that break the mold for safety, comfort, and performance.

“With that in mind we’re intently focused on R&D, innovation on seat safety, so we can provide more people with the best driver safety equipment.”
